The Barrett family, Daniel, Sarah, Thomas and Jacob originally from Lexington, South Carolina moved to Costa Rica in January 2009 as full time missionaries. Daniel has a degree from Columbia International University in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry and has served as a youth pastor since 1996. Sarah has a degree from Columbia College in Business Administrations and Spanish and has worked in sales with Michelin and Eli Lilly but has spent the last five years as a stay at home mom. Daniel and Sarah first trip to Costa Rica was in 2004 while leading a short-term mission team from their church Calvary Chapel Lexington. While in Costa Rica both saw the need for a Bible teaching church in the Jaco area. Just a year later they were excited to see Calvary Chapel Jaco begun by Mike and Revae Lawrence. Three years later in 2008 the Lord called the Barretts to work along side the Lawrences and assist in the various ministries of Calvary Chapel Jaco. Daniel is currently serving as associate pastor and worship leader. Sarah is in charge of church administrations and is assisting with children’s ministries. Thomas and Jacob both participate in the children’s ministries.
